Probability Sampling
This sampling scheme allows inferences to be made from the sample to the population. Every member of the population has a known non-zero probability of selection and it is possible to determine how many members of the population each sample member represent.
Quota Sampling
Random Location Quota Sampling is a form of non-probability sampling technique widely used in UK. It follows strict area selection procedures and quota breaks must be relevant to the subject matter in question. In the first stage areas are selected with probability proportionate to measure-of-size after geographical and geo-demographic stratification. Final selection of the respondents is left to the interviewer discretion.
Mixed-Mode Sampling
Technological advances in data collection methodologies and use of Geographic Information Systems allow us to link data from several sources and create sampling frames that are superior to sampling frames previously confined to only one mode of data collection. Diverse population requires diverse approach to data collection.
